Hey, I’m Sarina!
I’m a wife, mother of three children, and our rescued Goldendoodle. I live in beautiful - sunny Arizona, where flip-flops and T-shirts are mandatory for most of the year. I enjoy running and hiking and finding new travel adventures with my family.
In my early childhood years, I struggled with reading. The books of Dr. Seuss became a game of wordplay through humor and rhyme. I began writing words that rhymed and started turning these words into poetry. When my nonverbal son with Autism couldn’t communicate, it was important to me that consistent reading would help him in his journey. This was an integral part of his introduction to speech at age five. Having the ability to communicate, he has fewer behavioral outbreaks and loves to tell beautiful stories of his own. When I began writing children’s picture books, I wanted to encourage children to become readers with the motivation of silly books. Rhyming teaches children how the English language works. It helps them predict what they read, a critical reading skill for emergent readers.
I’m excited to continue this writing journey to foster early literacy, one smile at a time!
